Tokenization is the process of creating a digital representation of ownership or specific rights associated with a real-world asset (RWA) on a blockchain network. Rather than changing the underlying asset itself, tokenization creates a digital record that can simplify how ownership is documented and transferred, subject to applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.

One of the most frequently discussed potential benefits of tokenization is its ability to improve liquidity for certain asset classes.
